Who we are
Singapore Notary (singaporenotary.com.sg) is a free, independent directory of Notaries Public and Commissioners for Oaths registered with the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL).
What data we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Contact forms and quote requests. When you submit a form on our site we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, phone number (if given), and the content of your message or quote details. These are stored in our database and, where applicable, forwarded to the relevant practitioner so they can respond to your enquiry.
- Anonymous usage data. We record page views, firm detail views, and interaction events (such as clicking "Show contact") to understand how the site is used and improve it. Each visit is assigned a random session identifier stored in your browser's session storage. We do not store your IP address, set cookies, or use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use your data
- To respond to your enquiry or connect you with a notary or Commissioner for Oaths.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the directory and fee estimator.
- To produce aggregate, non-identifying statistics (e.g. most-visited pages, popular search filters).
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Who we share data with
- JCP Law LLC (our featured partner) receives contact-form and quote-request submissions where the enquiry relates to notarial or Commissioner for Oaths services.
- Supabase (our database provider) hosts the data. Their servers are located in Singapore. Supabase's own privacy policy applies to their infrastructure.
- Resend (our email delivery provider) processes outbound emails sent when you submit a contact form.
- Vercel (our hosting provider) serves the site and runs our serverless functions.
Data retention
Contact-form submissions and quote leads are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. Anonymous usage data (page views and events) does not contain personal information and is retained for analytical purposes.
Your rights under the PDPA
Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request withdrawal of consent and deletion of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the form on our contact page.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party tracking scripts. The only client-side storage used is browser session storage for an anonymous session identifier, which is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab.
Third-party directory data
The practitioner information displayed on this site (names, firm addresses, contact numbers, languages spoken) is sourced from the Singapore Academy of Law's publicly available registry. We do not independently verify this data. If you are a listed practitioner and wish to correct or remove your information, please get in touch.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
